The 36th quarterly auctions are scheduled to run from Dec. 14 - 15 in Beijing, with over 3,000 items going under the hammer, said China Guardian.

The Chinese paintings and calligraphy to be auctioned off will include about 1,500 pieces by artists such as Zhang Daqian, Wu Changshuo and Qi Baishi.

The auction will also highlight modern and contemporary collections by professors from Östasiatiska Museet, Bo Gyllensvard and Jan Wirgin, and well-known Chinese painting expert Lars Berglund.

In addition, classical works by famous artists from the Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties will be offered during the two-day auction.

In the porcelain and artworks category, about 1,700 items will hit the auction block. Highlights will include a blue and white dish from the Qing Dynasty, a yellow ground embroidery dragon robe from the Qing Dynasty, and a purple clay brush pot with an estimated value between 600,000 and 900,000 yuan.
